Hylda Baker and Arthur Mullard vs Lo Fang

You may have noticed a trend lately to take perfectly good songs, and slow them down so that they sound plaintive and reflective if you like that sort of thing or crap if you don’t.

We don’t. Ye Lo Snow slows his songs down, but he has trouble stringing two words together- we understand it when he does it, but we have little sympathy with the commercial peddling of classic pop to cater to an advertising industry eager to exploit pathos!

This cover came about after we found Lo Fang’s cover of ‘You’re the one that I want’. It makes the 1988 cover by Hylda and Arthur seem positively slick. It went out in our show on the 18th August, but is here for you now in all its glory- with some interesting facts attached.
